Away | 06 January 2018 | Attendance: 121
The Creeksiders started the New Year 2018 with a 4-3 win away at Petersfield in what proved to be a seesaw topsy turvy encounter.

On 7 minutes the hosts Petersfield opened the scoring to make it 1-0 when the Fareham defence was all over the place and striker Connor lobbed Fareham keeper Luke Douglas into the top right hand goal.

Two minutes Fareham nearly levelled when winger Matt Simm struck a hard and low shot which forced the Petersfield keeper Eaton into a low diving save.

11 minutes into the match and Fareham got back on level terms thanks to 'The Delme Arms Zidane' Curt Robbins when he found space inside the box hit a low shot which struck the left hand post and into the centre of the net to make the score 1-1.

Then on 18 minutes Fareham almost went ahead for the first time in the match when Cal Laycock whipped in a exquisite cross and picked out Robbins who almost doubled his goal tally in the match but his looping header was put straight into the hands of Eaton.

32 minutes Fareham got out of jail with some poor defending when Petersfield winger Keogh blasted the ball way over the bar with the goal at his mercy which resulted keeper Douglas handing out vocal instructions to the Fareham defence.

34 minutes and the Creeksiders had a opportunity to go ahead when a throw in from Captain for the day Craig Hardy picked out Ashley Tattersall and his shot from a tight angle curled wide of the Petersfield goal.

Three minutes before half time the visiting Creeksiders survived another scare when Kendall had a free header that looped over the bar and Douglas again gave his Fareham back line a strong talking to once more.

But on 57 minutes the visiting Creeksiders equalised to put the score at 2-2 thanks to George Davis as he got onto a Tattersall corner kick and his cheeky back heel placed the ball into the left hand goal.

61 minutes and Fareham keeper Douglas made a brilliant low diving save at the left side of his goal to deny Kendall from a free kick shot and to keep the score on level terms.

70 minutes and Fareham had a player sent off but then so should have Petersfield, as Pittman was took a punch in the face from Kendall and both sets of players got involved and Robbie Pittman retaliated which resulted in Fareham being reduced to 10 men and the home player only shown a yellow card?

76 minutes and the Creeksiders attempted to take the lead when some good dribbling play on the right wing from Simm and his travelling cross shot had Eaton guessing but the ball hit the top netting.

81 minutes and Fareham took the lead making the score 3-2 when Tattersall on a pudding of a pitch, dribbled into the penalty area beating the Petersfield defence and he curled the ball into the low left corner of the goal.

89 minutes Fareham make their 3rd and last change of the match Tattersall off to be replaced by Sammy Kessack and what a change it proved to be!!

Right On 90 minutes Fareham snatched the winner when Louie Castles played a class pinpoint cross which had reached supersub Kessack and he leapt like a salmon to head the ball beyond the Petersfield keeper into the centre of the goal to send the Creeksiders home with 3 vital points.

My View On Todays Match: A very scrappy and a very unattractive affair today on an awful pitch but we got the job done nonetheless. We start the New Year 2018 with a win very much to Pete and Terry's satisfaction. COYR!!! CREEK CREEK CREEKSIDERS!!!
