Match Report

The Creeksiders losing run continued with a lacklustre 5-0 home loss to Dorset outfit Bournemouth Poppies.

If on 11 minutes Roberts block on Kavacs clearance had gone 3 inches and in the net rather than for a goalkick who knows how the day would have ended up?

On 18 minutes Ashley Tattersall tried his luck to open the scoring but his shot was hit straight at Kavacs, then immediately up the other end Bournemouth Poppies nearly took the lead when Forward Omamele smacked the ball onto Jason Plomer's left hand post to cannon out for a Fareham goal kick.

And it was the visitors who took the lead on 19 minutes when midfielder Sam Makhloufi struck from about six yards out with Town keeper Jason Plomer diving happlessley with the ball rifled into the net.

On 23 minutes Town almost got on level terms when Captain Josh Holmes unleashed a 25 yard screamer only for his effort to smack Kavacs left hand post and Roberts followed up effort flashed wide.

5 Minutes later Fareham win another free kick Holmes whipped ball into the box and Town should of equalised only for Laycock's headed effort flashed wide with the goal at his mercy.

Then two minutes later Laycock had another to score and get Fareham on level peggings when he hit a volley from long range only to flash narrowly wide of Poppies keeper's Kavacs left hand post.

On 36 minutes the visiting Poppies doubled their advantage when it was very much against the run of play and Town should have had a free kick when Poppies Forward Eder Batista tripped up Jones to round keeper Plomer and to the amazement of everyone in the ground, play was not brought back and the forward was able to slot the ball into an open net 2-0 to Bournemouth Poppies.

Town started the 2nd half brightly looking to get back into the game and on 48 minutes the Creeksiders had a chance to get back in the game to make it 2-1 when both subs Abuzeid and Kessack were involved in the Fareham attack Abuzeid bringing the ball down and laying the ball to Kessack who blazed over the the Poppies goal.

51 minutes Town had another chance to pull a goal back when a Holmes corner reached Laycock but he was only able to divert the ball over the bar.

55 minutes Fareham looked for a penalty kick when Sammy Kessack was pulled down by Poppies Defender Kevin Foreman the Creeksiders faithfull behind the goal made their protests heard only for the referee to wave them away and give Bournemouth Poppies defender Foreman the benefit of the doubt.

A minute later the visiting Poppies got their third of the match and 2nd goal for Poppies midfielder Sam Makhloufi as he took full advantage of Town's woeful defending slotting the ball beyond Plomer's reach to give them a 3-0 lead.

On 58 minutes Tattersall had a chance to score when his effort from just outside the 18 yard box flashed narrowly wide of Poppies keeper Kavacs left hand post.

On 73 minutes Poppies rubbed further salt into the Fareham Town wounds when Forward Batista got his 2nd of the game and give the travelling Poppies a 4-0 lead when in acres of space in the Fareham penalty area hitting a hard low shot with the ball flying past Plomer and into the net.

And things went from very bad to extremely worse on 80 minutes when Poppies midfielder Makhoufi completed his hat trick had make the score 5-0 to the travelling Bournemouth Poppies. Matkoufi waltzed through the Fareham defence and rounded Town Keeper Plomer to put the ball into a open net.

My view of today's game: A very lacklustre and undesirable performance from Fareham Town today. However I'm confident we can turn things around we just need some of luck Bournemouth had at crucial times today and two or three new players and we'll be ok. We put our league issues aside this coming Tuesday night when AFC Stoneham come to Cams Alders in the Sydenhams League Cup. We have the best support ever in the Wessex League and we all need to stick together and unite as one and back the management and players we can turn this around I know we can. COYR!! UP THE TOWN!! RED AND BLACK ARMY!! CREEK CREEK CREEKSIDERS!!
