Reserves 3 - 2 Alresford Town

Away | 07 April 2018
Back on it again today after no game for a couple of weeks away to a decent Alresford Town.

We couldn’t of asked for a better start taking the lead after 2 minutes Naz Stone with a lovely through ball for Harvey Cooper to run on to a delicately lift it over the keeper.

We should then of gone 2 up Bradley Silvester doing well to win the penalty but not so well taking it making it easy for the keeper to save. We were playing well and the better team and eventually got the 2nd goal midway through the 2nd half an unbelievable through ball with the outside of Vaughnie Mcgee right foot for Brad to make up for his penalty miss with a fine finish.

With less than 5 minutes to half time we let Alresford back In the game conceding from our own corner letting them hit us on the break to make it 2-1 at half time.

2nd half we came out controlling the game creating chances and playing some good football and on 65 minutes we got the well deserved 3rd goal Henry Jordan putting a long freekick into the Alresford box which their keeper misjudged and Brad nodded Home for his 2nd and our 3rd.

We were then completely in control of the game popping the ball about and creating more chances and Alresford not threatening us at all but it wouldn’t be us if we didn’t make it an interesting finish. With 5 minutes remaining a hopeless high ball into our box Barney Conaghan misjudged and then some how with Barney and Aaron Grimshaw hugging each other on the line it come off Aaron onto Barney and over the line for 3-2.

Alresford then nearly got an underserved equaliser with the last kick of the game the centre forward unmarked from 7 yards but smashed it over the bar.

Final score a well deseved 3-2 win and on the whole a really good performance from the lads we go again Monday night at home to Hamble.
